If you’re looking for Parkour in Portland, then you’ve found it! The Playground Gym is ground zero for Portland Parkour. We began offering the city’s first Parkour classes in 2010 and are still the only indoor Parkour & Free Running gym in the city! As a physical discipline, Parkour focuses on efficient and expressive movement through ones’ environment. Overcoming obstacles in creative, safe and fun ways is a reoccurring theme, and with two locations to choose from, our one-of-a-kind program sets the standard in Portland for Parkour training.

Parkour classes at the Playground Gym will develop proper techniques to ensure safety and longevity while fluidly adapting ones movements to the environment. Parkour skills include jumping, vaulting, climbing, balancing, landing, falling, quadrupedal movements, and looking beyond traditional use of objects. 

Our Freerunning section adds in basic acrobatics such as handstands, cartwheels, wall flips and spins, with a constant focus on safety, learning one’s boundaries, and self improvement.

Every class consists of a warm-up/stretching, physical conditioning, and skills training. Classes are tailored to students abilities and focused on developing self expression, innovation, creativity, strength and efficiency. And since this is The Playground Gym, we will help them grow through intense noncompetitive play, while encouraging positive collaboration, respect for all people and places and, of course, having more fun! As the weather permits we’ll take our new skills outside to test them in the environment they were intended to be.
